b. An inphase monitor shall be provided for closed transition operation. The
moritor shall control transfer/retransfer between live sources so that
closure on the alternate source will occur only when the two sources are
within 5 electrical degrees maximum, 5 % maximum voltage difference,
and 0.2Hz.
c. Closed transition transfer shall be accomplished with no power
interruption and without altering the or actively controlling standby
generator set.
5. The automatic transfer/bypass isolation switches and accessories shall conform to
the requirements of:
a. UL 1008 - Standard for Automatic Transfer Switches
b. NFPA 70 - National Electrical Code
c. NFPA 99 - Essential Electrical Systems for Health Care Facilities
d. NFPA 110 - Emergency and Standby Power Systems
e. IEEE Standard 446 - IEEE Recommended Practice for Emergency and
Standby Power Systems for Commercial and Industrial Applications.
f. NEMA Standard ICS2-447 - AC Automatic Transfer Switches

G. Transfer switches shall be as manufactured by Automatic Switch Company or Russ-
electric. Any alternate shall be submitted to the consulting engineer in writing 10 days
prior to bid. Each alternate bid must list any deviations from this specification.
2,10 GRAPHIC ANNUNCIATOR
A. Provide illuminated graphic mimic panel to show a system one-line including generators,
generator switchgear, ATS’s, normal feeders and building secondary service
switchboards. Provide led indicator for breaker status (open/closed), load shed, ATS
position, generator shutdown and ATS (bypass position), utility, etc. Dry contacts shall be
provided at the building switchgear and other locations.
B. Submittal shall include detail information as to size, construction, etc.
