Isolate delineated areas from the rest of the floor using 2 layers of 6 mil fireproof polyethylene sheeting (poly). Included is the installation of critical barriers consisting of 2 layers of poly at all openings (doors, wall sockets, etc) to the area along the delineation line and within the area. . Isolate the HVAC system from the rest of the floor by sealing the openings with 2 layers of 6 mill poly at minimum. . Install negative pressure ventilation to the area through the use of HEPA equipped air filtration devices (with a minimum of 4 air changes per hour). The entrance to each area shall have a decontamination unit with water for washing | of all personnel and waste to prevent the spread of dust to clean areas. One fully aperational decontamination unit with a shower for the men shall be constructed in an area where all abatement workers shall shower at the end of each shift and before each break. HEPA vacuum and/or wet wipe all surfaces in the area. Non- porous surfaces such as carpets and chairs are to be HEPA vacuumed only. All non-porous items may not be able to be completely decontaminated and may have to be disposed of as contaminated waste. Standard janitorial deep cleaning can be performed on the porous surfaces after the completion of the abatement activities and final air clearance. Final air clearance testing and wipe sampling to be performed at the conclusion © of the project to determine if area has been decontaminated. Micro-vac type sampling may be performed on porous materials to determine whether they are decontaminated. Containment of the abatement zones shall remain in place until after the completion of the janitorial cleaning in the non-regulated areas of the floor.
