10. Clean and remove all non-porous materials from the work area and dispose as
construction and demolition debris.
11. Remove all other porous materials (including existing non-asbestos containing
fireproofing from steel beams, columns metal deck and all other surfaces, as well
as pipe insulation and gypsum wallboard) from the work area and dispose of as
asbestos contaminated waste.
12. Perform fine cleaning of the entire work area.
13. Environmental Consultant performs visual clearance testing of the floor work
areas. As each floor passes visual clearance, contractor will seal of the floor until
all work is completed so as to prevent re-contamination. Final air sampling will
be performed for all floors upon completion of work.
14. Clean Securtity Elevator #24 in its entirety, including the shaft, via wet-wipe and
HEPA vacuum methods.
15. Environmental Consultant performs clearance of the Car #24 shaft.
It is the performance objective of this project that the only materials to remain in the work
area after clearance sampling is complete will be sprinkler piping, class “E” wiring and
closed conduit.
2.2 FULL CONTAINMENT WORKSITE PROCEDURES
The Abatement Contractor shall, at a minimum, perform all functions listed below where
applicable:
A. Construct full worker and waste decontamination facilities in accordance with the
conditions specified in NYC DEP Title 15, Chapter 1 and in accordance with this
scope of work where applicable. Decontamination unit shall be located on the
parking level and shall be directly connected to the level “A” work area, and
indirectly connected to the other work areas via Stair # 2 and Security Elevator
#24.
