5. Gross cleaning of the entire area;
6. Removal and proper disposal of all exposed hardwood flooring, followed by gross cleaning of the sub-flooring using HEPA vacuuming and wet wiping techniques:

5. Proper clean up, transport, and disposal ofwaste. Waste stream shall be segregated into three categories. All porous items, dust and debris as well as rags and cleaning materials, clothing etc. shall be disposed of as asbestos contaminated waste. All non- porous items (i.e. unlined HVAC ducts, BX electrical cables, hardwood flooring, etc.), following a gross cleaning by the General Contractor, shall be disposed of as construction and demolition waste.
6. If required, Contractor to provide fire/security watch 24-hours, 7-days a week.
7. Contractor shall have a NYS and NYC licensed asbestos abatement supervisor on site at all times while work is being performed. No work will be allowed whenever there is no supervisor on site.
B. Sequence of the work shall be as follows:
1. Contractor to provide all required signage on all floors (see Sections 07 and 11 of this document). Post permits in locations as required.
2. Contractor to construct centrally located personal and waste decontamination chambers.
3. Contractor to install temporary lighting and power. All electricians to have Restricted Handlers license.
4. Contractor to install isolation barriers over windows, doors, ceiling penetrations, etc. using two layers of 6-mil polyethylene sheeting and sealed with tape, and protect the floor with two layers of 6-mil reinforced polyethylene sheeting and sealed with tape;
5. Contractor to position Air Filtration Devices (AFDs) to obtain negative pressure in the Work Area. Final location to be approved by Ambient Group, Inc.
6. Where required, Contractor to provide wooden isolation/barriers at staircases, elevators, lobbies, corridors and all areas where opening is greater than 32 square feet to restrict entry to the Work Area and facilitate total isolation. All materials shall be fire retardant.
7. Contractor to construct wooden manifolds at windows to both accept the exhaust from the AFDs and to provide for make-up air via HEPA-filtered, manually controlled dampers. The exterior of the manifolds shall be painted black.
