BASIC ELECTRICAL*MATERIAKS. METHODS AND REQUIREMENTS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 DESCRIPTION
A. Comply with General Conditions and Division One.
B. Basic Electrical Materials, Methods and Requirements applies to all sections of Division
16.
C. Codes, Permits and Inspections:
1. All work shall meet or exceed the latest requirements of New York City Building
Code, New York City Electrical Code, P.A. Standards and all national, state,
county, municipal, and other authorities exercising jurisdiction over electrical
construction work and the project.
2. All required permits and inspection certificates shall be obtained, paid for, and
made available at the completion of the work. In the event that no official
authority exists which will issue a certificate attesting to the safety of the electrical
installations, such a certificate shall be acquired from an independent agency
selected by the Architect. Inspection and certification fees levied by this agency
shall be paid for as part of the electric work.
3. Any portion of the work which is not subject to the requirements of an electric
code published by a specific authority having jurisdiction shall be governed by the
National Electrical Code and other applicable sections of the National Fire Code,
as published by the National Fire Protection Association.
4. Equipment, material, layout and installation provided as part of the electrical
work shall conform to the requirements of all agencies having jurisdiction.
Include as part of the electrical work all required filings and submissions for
approval. Equipment furnished separate from - but installed as part of - the
electrical work, which does not have all necessary approvals, shall not be installed
until approvals are obtained by the parties furnishing the equipment.
