C. Hot Water Heater: If needed, provide appropriately sized UL rated electric water heaters to supply hot water for Personnel Decontamination Enclosure System Shower(s). Activate each water heater from 30 AMP Circuit breakers located within the Decontamination Enclosure sub panel. Provide relief valve(s) compatible with water heater operations, pipe relief valve down to drip pan at floor level with type "L" copper lining. Drip pans shall be 6" deep and securely fastened to water heater. Wiring of the water heater shall be in compliance with NEMA, NECA, and UL standards.
D. Hot Water: May be secured from the building hot water system, provided back flow protection is installed at point of connection as described in this section under Temporary Water Service connection, and if authorized by the Owner.
2.04 ELECTRICAL SERVICE:
A. General: Comply with applicable NEMA, NECA, and UL standards and governing regulations for materials and layout of temporary electric service.
B. Temporary Power: Provide service to decontamination unit sub-panel with minimum 60 AMP, 2 pole circuit breaker, or fused disconnect connected to the building's main distribution panel. Sub-panel and disconnect shall be sized and equipped to accommodate all electrical equipment required for completion of the Work.
C. Voltage Differences: Provide identification warning signs at power outlets that are other than 110-120 volt power. Provide polarized outlets for plug-in type outlets, to prevent insertion of 110-120 volt plugs into higher voltage outlets. Dry type transformers shall be provided where required to provide voltages necessary for work operations.
D. Ground Fault Protection: Equip all circuits for any purpose entering work area with ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCI). Locate GFCIs exterior to work area so that all circuits are protected prior to entry to the work area. Provide circuit breaker type ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCI) equipped with test button and reset switch for all circuits to be used for any purpose in work area, decontamination units, exterior, or otherwise required by NEC, OSHA, or other authority. Locate in panel exterior to work area.
E. Power Distribution System: Provide circuits of adequate size and proper characteristics for each use. In general, run wiring overhead, and rise vertically in such a manner to be least subject it to damage from operations.
F. Temporary Wiring: In the work area, temporary wiring shall be type UF non-metallic sheathed cable located overhead and exposed for surveillance. Provide liquid tight enclosures or boxes for ail wiring devices. Do not wire temporary lighting with plain, exposed (insulated) electrical conductors.
G. Electrical Power Cords: Use only grounded extension cords; use hard service cords where exposed to traffic and abrasion. Use single lengths ofcords only.
2.05 FIRST AID:
A. Comply with all governing regulations and recognized recommendations within the construction industry.
