Stray Current Investigation
i
Update: TA & DEP conducted site visit. TA said that they don’t have anything in the
area but are willing to test the main (via the fire hydrants) and the service line to the
sampling stations for a current. Testing of the sample station service line will require
digging to tire sendee. Doug - tVho do you u.se when investigating stray currents?
Salome Freud Drinfdr.g Water Quality informed me of elevated levels of copper in water
collectedfrom sample stations located on Water Street between Wall St and Fletcher St.
Likely cause is a stray DC current in the area. PB contacted ConEd and TA Subways
and asked about any DC they may have in the area. ConEd said they don’t have any DC
in the area, TAI will conduct invesiigation on Monday. TA vAll contact EOC to make
specific arrangements. 1
