There was an observable increase in the use of water on the pile today. However, even
though many fire hydrants have been back into service, they aren't being utilized because
of a lack of dust suppression resources available. Contractor resources are being
identified.
Tarpping of trucks
Update: Some loads corning out on the trucks and going to Pier 25 were so hot that the
tarj) was melting as it was placed over the load. These trucks received an exemption to
covering their loads for today.
Identification of Out-of-service fire hydrants.
FDNY has done this already.
Traffic Plan
Update: Sams map, no plan thougli. Received map o f trafric routes near the .site. Plan to
come.... Tomorrow.
Update; Request for historical background data.
Update: Parameters still not received yet. [JOAi -Tim Dowd. Bechtel Infrastructure
Corp., 212-967-04.12 - cell 301-908-2869, (H&S consultant workingfor .D.DC) requested
historical air monitoring data for the downtown area. He will get back top me on what
parameters he is interested in.]
Quality of water to be / is being pumped from the WTC
* Nh'SDOH Jim Covey and NYSDEC questioned (he quality of the waler to be / is being
pumped out from the basements of the WTC and from the PA tunnel and into the sewers.
DEC has indicated that they are willing to take the lead on this issue (plan, protocol and
ultimate disposal), but they need NYC to ask for such assistance.
