DERTA’s activities at WTC attack:
As first responders, DERTA immediately arrived at the WTC incident prior to the collapse of the towers. Following the recovery of personnel who were buried in underground areas following the collapse, DERTA immediately began sampling bulk debris and conducted air sampling to identify hazardous constituents and zones of contamination. Air sampling results obtained on 9/11 by DERTA were used to define the exclusion zone (areas of contamination).
