Re: Excerpts from Draft Evaluation Report: EPA’s Response to the World Trade
Center Collapse: Lessons Learned, Assignment No. 2002- 0000702
Dear Mr. Beusse:
Thank you for taking the time along with Mr. Hatfield and Mr. Pierce of your
staff to meet with us on July 1, 2003. We appreciated the opportunity to provide the
Environmental Protection Agency with information concerning New York City’s response to the
terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11,2001 and with the City’s comments
concerning the excerpts of the above referenced report that were provided to the City.
Attached hereto as interlineations to the excerpts are the City’s written comments
concerning the excerpts which were provided to the City’s Department of Design and
Construction, Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene. These comments are submitted on behalf of these agencies and the City.
Also, we will be providing documents that you requested at our meeting and
documents to support our comments. However, we have not yet compiled all of the documents.
We expect to have all of them compiled shortly and be able to provide them to you by the end of
this week.
