Q. Site Tests
1. Manufacturer shall provide the services of factory trained engineer and the
technicians to conduct and supervise the installation and site tests.
2. Generator set supplier shall supervise reinstallation of components, align, inspect
and re-certify each unit after installation. Any deficiency with the installation
shall be brought to the attention of the contractor for repair or alteration. The unit
shall be started up and run at No Load to determine that all systems are
functional.
3. To demonstrate satisfactory operation of the generator sets each shall be
automatically started, paralleled and run with the load of the resistive load bank
system. Test shall continue to demonstrate shutdown and load shed sequences.
The owner and engineer shall witness this test. The test shall be run a minimum
of two (2) hours with as much on-site load as is available. Test reports shall be
filled in during the test to record, as a minimum, voluge, amperage, frequency,
oil pressure, water temperature and ambient temperature at 15 minute intervals.
These reports shall be provided to the owner and engineer after the test for his
approval.
4. In addition to the above running test, there should a ftmctional test of any feature
of the generator that may not have been installed properly or altered since the
factory test. As an example, for the remote annunciator, each light on the panel
should be tested to verify it works as installed. Submit a test plan to the engineer,
prior to testing, which shows which tests are to be performed.
R. Operation and Maintenance Manuals
1. The bidder shall furnish six copies of operating and maintenance instructions and
illustrated parts books covering the engine-generator and auxiliary equipment
which will require operating instructions and periodic maintenance.
S. Commissioning
1. Furnish the services of a competent, factory-trained engineer or technician to be
available at the job site for period of two days for initial start-up and for
instruction personnel in operation and maintenance of the equipment, on the dates
requested by the Owner.
