comers). While the structural design and protection of penetrations has been upgraded, the required venting of the cavity between the windows and this upgraded structural drywall partition and access via access doors remains the same as the partition currently shown on the OEM/DCAS/Silverstein/Port Authority approved drawings. Some of the additional upgrades are as follows;

Under normal operations, this cavity between the windows and the protective wall requires to be vented for heating in winter and venting of heat away from the windows during summer to prevent blow-out by heat build-up (2 grilles per bay; one top, one bottom). In addition, 24” x 24” access doors are required to allow maintenance personnel to perform any repairs or cleaning necessary (one per bay). Under normal conditions the vents will be operational. Under hurricane conditions, OEM shall control from the command podium motorized air dampers to shut down the grilles. All doois and access doors penetrating this wall shall be weather-stripped, pre-engineered blast doors to withstand the above noted design loads. All penetrations through this wall must be carefully reviewed and detailed. Where possible, we will look at ways to avoid penetrating this wall by re-routing.

At die request of OEM/DCAS, SHCA has prepared the attached preliminary package for your review and approval Per previous correspondence from DCAS, DCAS acknowledged that this scope of work is an additional service to the SHCA project team and the revised drawings will result in a Bulletin/Change Order to Ambassador construction. DCAS has requested that Ambassador prepare a preliminary budget based upon the attached information. SHCA is preparing an Additional Service Authorization design proposal for your review and approval.

Should Silverstein or Ambassador have any questions or need clarification in order to perform your review/budgeting, please call me at your earliest convenience. SHCA will not proceed any frirfter until it receives approval and direction from Silverstein Propenies, inc.
