Message; Commissioner Miele: As the President of the Tenants Association at 80 John Street, I am deeply disturbed by the limited sampling data available to the public in the aftermath of 9/11. Based on my review of your published data, it appears that no testing has been done for the residential areas east of Broadway. 80 John Street is located just a few blocks due east of the WTC site. Given the fact that the prevailing wind direction on 9/11 and many time periods thereafter was easterly, we are gravely concerned about the indoor air quality and dust levels we have experienced. The dust clouds when the towers collapsed and the ensuing i.uOKe and blowing dust did not see Broadway as an uncrossable barrier; instead, they enveloped our buildings and even blocked out the sun the moring of 9/11 for a lengthy period of time. Landlords are using the lack of established standards and comprehensive data to their advantage, saying that since their own (possibly biased) sampling showed less than the infamous
