Dear Mr. Freda, ATC Associates Inc, (ATC) has been retained to respond for emergency clean up at the above referenced site. ATC collected bulk samples of interior dust accumulations and subjected them to Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) analysis on September 18, 2001. The analysis documents that the dust was not asbestos containing. However, the results did show that trace amounts (<1%) of asbestos was present, therefore, as a precaution, the bulk clean up was performed by a licensed asbestos abatement contractor. Pinnacle Environmental Corp. ATC observed daily cleaning activities, performed the required visual inspections and collected air samples within the building following the clean up. Analytical results showed airborne fiber concentration within the building to be less than the regulatory standard of 0.01 fibers per cubic centimeter of air (<0 01 f/cc) by Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) analysis at the time of testing Based upon ATC’s observation of work and the satisfactory air monitoring results it is ATC’s opinion that the work was performed in substantial compliance with applicable regulations and that the abatement area meets the regulatory criteria for re-occupancy ATC Associates Inc. ceitifies the information contained herein is based on the physical inspections conducted by ATC and the air sample data collected during the work.
