1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE *
A. Products Criteria
1. All equipment furnished as part of the electrical work shall comply with the latest
editions of all applicable state and municipal "energy codes". Provide
certification from the equipment suppliers for all energy-consuming equipment
that the equipment ftilly complies with these codes. Equipment submissions will
not be accepted for review unless accompanied by such certification in writing.
2. All equipment and materials for permanent installation shall be the products of
recognized manufacturers and shall be new.
3. New equipment and materials shall
a. Be Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (U.L.) labeled and/or listed where
specifically called for, or where normally subject to such U.L. labeling
and/or listing services.
b. Be without blemish or defect.
c. Not be used for temporary light and power purposes without Architect's
authorization.
d. Be in accordance with the latest applicable NEMA standards.
e. Be products which will meet with the acceptance of the agency inspecting
the electrical work. Where such acceptance is contingent upon having the
products examined, tested and certified by U.L. or other recognized
testing laboratory, the product shall be so examined, tested and certified.
4. Except for conduit, conduit fittings, outlet boxes, wire and cable, all items of
equipment or material of one generic type shall be the product of one
manufacturer throughout.
5. It is the intent of these specifications that wherever a manufacturer of a product is
specified, and the terms "other approved" or "or approved equal" or "equal" are
used, the substituted item must conform in all respects to the specified item.
Consideration will not be given to claims that the substituted item meets the
performance requirements with lesser construction. Performance as delineated in
schedules and in the specifications shall be interpreted as minimum performance.
