iiER.3 John DeMartino, Director Bureau of Sewers City of New York Department of Environmental Protection 40 Worth Street New York, N. Y. 10013
Clarke + Rapuano Inc Dear Mr. DeMartino: Consulting Engineers Landscape Architects Intrepid Museum-Pier 86 215 Lexington Ave New York NY 10016 212 725 2121 You will find attached a concrete core report, including a location plan for the four? cores taken.
Cores No. 2, 3 and 4 were made into the slab and walls of the twin barrel sewer that runs along the centerline of Pier 86 in the immediate vicinity of the proposed entrance/utility building serving the USS Intrepid Museum activities. They indicate compressive strengths of 2896, 3846 and 3891 psi.
Core No. 1 was taken to establish the soundness of the concrete in the existing pier that will sup- ■ ■ port a significant portion of the proposed building. The 3846 psi compressive strength found is satis factory for the purpose of our design.
Y/ rs very truly,
Raymond J. deimbuch Pi/ei ident
