Following a telephone conversation with you this afternoon I am ■»ending ’yQu--^laiiS Df pzcnQsed a'ew .CDlacraHis . located .abDye B 7. ft. diameter sewer in the Park Avenue Tunnel at 59th Street. On each drawing I have circled in red the area under considera tion.
Please note the following facts:
1. The new columns carry lighter dead load (of road deck) than existing columns to be removed. 2. New columns are all in the same line with respect to the existing sewer as the existing columns.
3. Footings^which are typical,have been designed for a maximum of 4 kips per square foot.
I shall appreciate your prompt reply regarding your approval or comments on the proposed new columns.
