SECTION 5.0: SITE CONTROL MEASURES

5.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

5.1.1 Medical Facilities

For non-emergency medical needs, contractors to identify specific medical facilities they will use and establish required protocols directly with the facility

5.1.2 First-Aid Stations

Contractors shall ensure all employees are aware of the availability and location of First Aid Stations as part of initial site orientation and training. Current locations of First Aid Stations shall be clearly shown on site maps to be posted on informational bulletin boards on site.

5.1.3 Emergency Eyewash Stations

Portable eyewash stations will be provided and maintained around the WTC Work Zones. These stations shall have the capability of providing a continuous flow of eyewash water for a minimum of 15-minutes and be properly winterized to ensure they are functional during freezing weather. Eyewash stations will be maintained and include documented inspections in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

5.1.4 Site Communication Methods

All contractors shall ensure employees are aware of the current waming/notification system for both emergency and non-emergency situations as part of initial site orientation and t raining. Current warning signals shall be posted on informational bulletin boards on site.

A roster of key personnel contact names and numbers shall be established and maintained for emergency and non-emergency situations. All contractors shall, as a minimum, have a two-way communication system with their field supervision and safety and health personnel.

5.2 PRE-ENTRY BRIEFING

All contractor personnel are to attend a comprehensive orientation training program conducted by contractor ES&H personnel in accordance with Section 1 prior to being allowed site access. Contractors will maintain records of employees who have attended the orientation. Employees will be provided with documentation that they have attended the orientation.
