every rain event of greater than 0.5 inch. When cleanup and recovery activities damage the controls, the contractor responsible for that area will make the necessary repairs.

4.2 ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING

Each contractor will perform and document periodic environmental monitoring to verify environmental requirements specified in this ES&H plan are being implemented and followed during cleanup and recovery activities. In addition, a Weekly Environmental Monitoring Report will be prepared by the contractor and submitted to the Site ES&H Director. The report will summarize the environmental issues and/or incidents that occurred during the week.

Monitoring schedules will be dictated by the type of work performed during cleanup and recovery activities and environmental requirements relevant to those activities. The contractor and field ES&H representatives will discuss work practices on a daily basis and direct immediate changes where a significant potential for an adverse environmental impact exists.

If necessary, “stop work” orders will be issued if cleanup and recovery activities are not in accordance with the applicable environmental requirements, are having significant adverse impacts on the environment, or will result in a significant adverse impact to the environment if the activity continues. If such activities occur, the field ES&H representative will take appropriate action to halt work, provide guidance to correct the problem, and immediately notify the contractor ES&H Manager, as appropriate. The cleanup and recovery activity in question will not resume until all required corrective actions have been implemented.
