FYI
—Original Message— From: Lutchmedial, CarisOen Sent: Monday, July 14, 2003 11:18 AM To: Radhakrishnan, Krish Cc: Jheodorellys, Penny Subject: 114 Liberty Street I was informed by the security Person at the lobby of the building that the tenants have not returned to the building, he said that the tenants refuse to return because of Asbestos being present in the building. I was shown the Restaurant furthest west of the building - 1st floor, the ceiling decorative plaster was delaminating and numerous pieces were scattered throughout the floor and other kitchen equipment.
on the Sth floor, north side where structural damage had occurred, at the edge of the remaining flooring small amounts of visible WTC dust was present. I was informed that the tenants believe the dust is every underneath the floor, this is because of the 4 inch space which exist between the substrate and the hardwood floor, in addition, there were VAT present beneath the hardwood floor, the other concern was that the walls studs were built into the flooring on this floor. therefore, the tenants believe if the dust got into the walls, it would have gone into the floor, this condition is only assumed to be the same on other floors.
we then went to the 9th floor where there was a run of pipes exposed from a column which had been demolished, the pipes were covered with a corrugated insulation.
according to the security personnel, these were the concerns of the tenants.
