Battery Park City inquiry (4 WFC Merrill Lynch)
Deputy Commissioner Avaltroni received a call from Tony Woo concerning EPA’s setting up a DeCon Operation in very close proximity to 4 World Financial Center (Merrill Lynch). They asked if the DeCon Operation could be relocated one block north on West Street which would be away from the Merrill Lynch building. In our conversation with EPA they said that OEM and DOH had approved the location for De Con at Vesey and West Street.
We have asked Paul Bennett to inquire if we have an alternate site that could be used by EPA in this effort.
We are told that Merrill Lynch has lights and power at 4 WFC and are conducting clean-up activities intending on bringing in some personnel on Monday 10/1 with an eye toward occupying on 10/8. We are reviewing the location to deem how we can provide assistance and perform any necessary testing prior to occupancy.
