concerns. DEP representatives spoke with Bob Serpico Of Battery Park City and reminded them of their responsibility to ensure that all areas are cleaned properly.

Last evening HazMat met with Paul Bennet & Kelly McKainney of DOH regarding issuing an advisory. DOH agreed to issue advisory regarding Vehicles.

• DEP is cleaning Rector Place at the Battery Park City’s request

• DEP recommended that Battery Park City’s sand be removed from sandboxes. Battery Park City will have independent testing done with regard to sand removal.

• Air Monitoring conducted at Battery Park North & South resulted in questionable borderline clearance levels most likely due to remaining contaminated areas. Results at Gateway Plaza, At West Street and Albany Street were = .01

• Cleanup continues on remaining areas

• Contractors are working on parks, gardens and common areas.

Occupancy of 101 Murray Street: FDNY wants to use as a resting Area. There are 3 Issues;

1. Building is inside the perimeter, therefore respiratory protection is required. 2. Area outside the building has not been remediated (2 days minimum cleanup time needed) • 3. Construction Vehicle traffic on-going.

DC Chapin advised Fred Covina of Deputy Mayor Lhota’s office of the issues. Air Monitoring results conducted on four floors inside the building were below clearance levels.

Perimeter Cleanup

Powerwashing and vacuuming will continue from Chambers to Murray between Greenwich and Broadway. Resources were pulled from Battery Park South to aid in cleanup effort. Anticipated completion time = 2 days.

HazMat anticipates that 2 more days of Air Monitoring are needed before exclusion zone can be moved from Chambers to Murray.

Paul Bennet will determine whether construction traffic can be moved to Park Place and if a vehicle decon station can be established.
