MEMORANDUM

NEW YORK BUILDING CONGRESS DATE: September 17, 2001

TO: Members of the Building Congress

FROM: Jeffrey M. Levy, Chairman Richard T. Anderson, President

RE: WORLD TRADE CENTER MEMORIAL

We extend our heartfelt condolences and sincere best wishes, on behalf of the Building Congress Officers and Directors, to the families of our members and everyone affected by the September 11 disaster. This tragic event has impacted all of us so very deeply, and we are especially moved by the outpouring of support from our industry. Everyone is willing to help. Many are contributing enormously to the relief efforts.

In coming weeks, the Building Congress will continue to do everything it can to assist organized and volunteer restoration efforts, particularly to help members contribute to the rebuilding of the World Trade Center area.

The Building Congress Industry Recognition Dinner in October will be devoted to our industry's response to this disaster. All of you who support the dinner can be assured that we intend to devote the event to the restoration and to memorialize those we lost. More information about these plans will be forthcoming.

The Building Congress has established a World Trade Center Memorial Fund, within the New York Building Foundation, described in the enclosed announcement. Members may wish to consider contributing to this fund which will be devoted to assistance for the families of victims, especially from within our industry, and to area restoration. Many members have already expressed willingness to provide support, and we are grateful to everyone for their generosity in this most difficult time.

If we can assist you and your colleagues in any way, whether through direct efforts or information, please call on us.
