0368atk.pdf Some initial impressions on the results from the two samples. There's not much PCB in the caulk. The risk-based screening criteria for PCBs•in bulk material in EPA's WTC COPC Report is 1.5 ppm. A concentration of 0.5 mg/kg (ppm) would not pose much of a risk unless one was displaying pica behavior and consuming considerable amounts of the caulking material. The only constituents leaching out of the kitchen dust sample were a few metals but not at very high concentration (e.g., Pb .021 mg/l -> TCLP = 7.5 mg/l; Cr .12 mg/l -> TCLP = 5.0 mg/l; Ba .25 mg/l -> TCLP 100 mg/1). However, this TCLP test does not provide the actual concentration (ppm) of contaminants in the dust sample.
