In keeping with our promise and commitment to keep you fully informed and updated on our efforts to address your concerns and questions, please see the information below. We will continue to provide more information as specifics and details become available to us.

AIR QUALITY:

Our licensed consultant, ATC Associates, who will be in attendance at our follow-up meeting this Tuesday, October 30, at 6:30pm, visited the building on October 24th and 25th to perform hallway testing in all corridors and all apartments who requested it using the Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) method of testing for asbestos fibers as small as 0.5 microns. As we mentioned in our last memo, this test can identify fibers one tenth the size of those characterized by the Phased Contrast Microscopy (PCM) method and is the methodology used by school systems nationally to assure that children are protected.

We will provide a listing of the air test results at the meeting on Tuesday. However, we are very pleased to report that 110 apartment air tests and approximately 52 hallway and lobby air tests were performed and 161 out of 162 tests reflected ZERO (0) asbestos structures! The other single test indicated 14 structures per square millimeter, far below the action level of 70.

In addition, today ATC is performing tests for hydrocarbons, (volatile organic compounds or VOC's), heavy metals (lead and chromium) and airborne pcb's. Those results will be available next week. Our consultant will be testing for dioxins as soon as the test medium is available.

Visual inspections of 100% of all apartments, assuming we have access through our master key system, will be performed today and tomorrow. To date, 10 apartments have been inspected with no indication to date of dust accumulation.

As promised, we will continue to have ATC perform air testing every two weeks, in random locations and in any apartment who signs up for it in advance of their visits. The next test dates are November 7, November 21 and December 5th. Sign-up sheets are available at the concierge desk.
