Dear Mr. Rodriquez: assessment of the In response to your request GAC Environmental, Inc. ("GAC") performed an environmental impact to 85 John Street from the events of September 11, 2001. GAC performed inspections on September 17. 2001 and November 14-15, 2001. The environmental assessment was comprised of the following four (4) elements: Instruments, 1. A portable Organic Vapor Meter (OVM) model 580B by Thermo Environmental Inc. was used to test for eleven (11) Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in the air. This instrument detects and quantifies most organic vapors with a highly sensitive photo ionization detector (PID).
2. A determination was made as to the location, and airborne fiber levels, of any potential asbestos contamination. Air samples were taken from various areas throughout the building. Sample locations included apartments and common areas of the building. All samples were analyzed by the Transmission Electron Microscopy (`'TEM").
