2.2 Method Of Cleaning

Dust was cleaned from all surfaces utilizing vacuums with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters and utilizing wet wiping. Hard surfaces with heavy accumulations of dust were initially vacuumed and then wet wiped. Carpeting was HEPA vacuumed. Small objects were individually wet wiped. Contaminated porous materials such as clothing and bedding were briefly HEPA vacuumed and then placed in plastic bags, which were left in the individual units. These items will be sorted and laundered or dry cleaned.

2.3 Quality Assurance

After each unit or other area was cleaned, Gerald Schwartz, Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Safety Professional conducted a visual inspection. If the area was found to be satisfactorily cleaned, a Certification was issued. The Certifications for each area and apartment unit are found in Appendix 1.

3.0 AIR MONITORING

At the conclusion of all cleaning, asbestos air samples were collected. Forty (40) of the sixty-nine (69) locations tested originally on September 19th were selected for re-testing. The selection of locations favored apartment units and areas that initially had high levels of asbestos over hallways and low levels of asbestos. The locations that were tested are shown in Table 3.
