River Watch Brodsky Organization 70 Battery Place New York, NY 10019
Manager: Mr. Sal Panico (212) 896-5527
Environmental Sampling:
Enviro Techniques, Patterson NJ (973) 684-0202 was contracted to perform indoor air testing. Mr. Panico states that indoor air tests were performed in 191 apartments and there were 18 apartments whose tenants would not allow testing inside their apartment so air samples were taken outside the apartment door. In addition, all common areas were also tested. Mr. Panico does not know the exact number of tests performed but estimates the number at around 250. Of these, 13 apartments’ results were marginal and the rest were negative.
Enviro Techniques - Samples were collected and analyzed by NIOSH 7400 method using Phase Contrast Microscopy. This method does not distinguish between asbestos fibers and other airborne fibers.
Clean-up Activities by Building Manager: Per DRDC
1. All apartments were cleaned by DRDC, a licensed asbestos abatement company. 2. See spreadsheet for test dates, results, and date apartment and air conditioner was cleaned. 3. Outside of building and windows were power washed (See faxed information packet for date and company)
Comments:
Mr. Panico said that he sent a full report to: Michael Davis @ the Department of Environmental Compliance Leo Blabe (513) 841-4599 and Daniel Almaquer (513) 841-4232 @ the NYS DOH
Mr. Panico also stated that he would not mind if we called back for more information and that we could stop by and look at any results and documentation he has.
