OEM Lease - 7 World Trade Center
DCAS executed and delivered the OEM lease at 7 World Trade Center to tlie landlord, Silverstein Properties, on March 26,1998. The landlord’s architect. Swanice, Hayden Connell, delivered the final plans for our review on April 6th. The lease calls for the City to respond with its approval or comments to the plans by April 17th. After the plans are approved, and the landlord submits bids for our approval, construction should commence by early to mid May. We are still on schedule for completion of the renovations by November 1998.
Washburn Wire
Final phase demolition of the former Washbum Wire facility will begin on Tuesday, April 14th at midnight. To assure the safety of drivers on the FDR northbound, traffic will be detoured around the demolition site at East 116th Street. A crane will be used to raze; the brick facade. A sidewalk bridge has been in place at this location during the removal of the skeleton steel elements and will remain until all work is completed. DOT & DOB have monitored this site on an ongoing basis. Barges will be used to remove all debris upon completion of the final demo phase.
