We have been informed that the emergency generators are scheduled for testing at the Peoria facility used by Catcpillar. We fee] confident that testing of these engines and^certified data that will be submitted will confinn die engines capabilities to meet the specification and the witnessing ofthese tests will not provide any additional benefits to the project
The witnessing requirement in die specificaiion is there to insure that testing can be observed when tlie successful bidders do not have a continues track record of delivering the products as specified or if engine generator set combustion is of unique design or size that has not been produced previously. We feel tihat dicse generators have been manufactured by Catcpillar in sufficient quantities for a long enough period of time to be confident of tlieir capabiLitjes. We also feel their testing procedure, as witnesses in the past, arc of a high quality and conducted professionally to feel confident of their accuracy.
We recommead that credits be given for the cost associated with for witnessing these tests.
