Guardian Life Insurance Company, Appleton, Vfl A three-story regional office building which encompasses the phased construction of 200,000 SF of open office space, a cafeteria, and a computer room. Merrill Lynch & Company, Princeton, NJ A master plan study for a 1,800,000 SF corporate campus located on a 276-acre tract. Phase I was the design of a 1,000,000 SF administration/conference training center facility which contains 15,000 SF of raised-floor area for a computer/telecommunications center, confer- ence/seminar rooms, dining facilities, sleeping accommodations, and recreational facilities. The Phase II addition includes 350,000 SF of office space. Viacom International, Rutherford, NJ Fit-out of 11,000 SF of existing computer facilities. Existing raised floor and mechanical and electrical services were used whenever possible. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort McPherson, GA A 356,420 SF secure facility for the Forces Command and Control Center (FORSCOM). It contains: 15,000 SF of computer operations area; raised floors throughout for maximum flex­ ibility in the extensive use of computers; an uninterruptible power supply system; and emergency power generation. The building will serve as administrative headquarters for all army posts worldwide. Union Carbide, Danbury, CT Strategic facility study for selecting Tarrytown site and moving major locations to head­ quarters. Retrofit of a 40,000 SF existing industrial facility to electronic offices featuring 8,000 SF of computer floor with dual electric service and UPS/battery. TKLP managed the con­ struction, integrating the move of computer equipment and start-up, and delivered the project on schedule and under budget. Philadelphia Savings Fund Society, Philadelphia, PA Strategic facility study which resulted in the purchase and renovation of a 400,000 SF former newspaper production building for use as a corporate data center requiring a highly-sophis­ ticated communications and computer network and flexibility in the specialized office areas. The facility contains 36,000 SF of computer area supported by a UPS system and emergency power supply; it has raised floors throughout for complete flexibility in relocating utilities. U.S. Naval Facilities (NAVFAC) Engineering Command, Northern Division (NORDIV), Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg, PA A 100,0(X) SF data processing facility with more than 61,000 SF of space for computer hard­ ware, supported by an uninterruptible power supply system and emergency power generators.
