Relevant Glaxo Inc., Research Triangle Park, NC Experience/ Mechanical and electrical design of a 91,000 SF, three-story building housing centralized Qualifications data processing operations that support pharmaceutical research operations as well as gen­ (confd.) eral administrative functions; 43,000 SF are computer rooms, and the remaining space acconunodates computer-support functions. The entire facility has raised floors throughout for convenient access and flexibility in accommodating growth and change. The UPS system and emergency power generators are sized to provide 15 minutes of backup power for 100% of the equipment.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) Fort Belvoir, VA This secure administrative headquarters facility consists of 230,000 SF designed for exten­ sive use of computers. Raised floors throughout the facility provide convenient access and great flexibility for electrical/electronic/communications distribution systems. The 40,000 SF computer center and other critical operations areas are supported by a UPS system and emergency power generation. The design incorporates extensive measures to guard against physical and electronic intrusion, including fencing, road bends, vehicle barriers, TEMPEST shielding, "white sound" barriers, and interior-door access control.

Merrill Lynch & Company, Staten Island, NY Design of 200,000 SF high-reliability and high-security computer disaster recovery center and Teleport to back up Merrill Lynch's computer operations worldwide. The 100,000 SF computer operations area has rais^- access floors throughout and is supported by a UPS system and emergency power generators.

US Anny Corps of Engineers, Forces Command and Control Center (FORSCOM) Fort McPherson, GA A/E design, documentation and construction administration for a 356,400 SF secure facility which contains a 15,000 SF computer operations area. Raised floors are provided through­ out the facility for maximum flexibility in the configuration of computers and the electrical/ electronic/communications system. Operational reliability of the computers and utility sup­ port systems is provided by a UPS system and emergency power generation. Fire protection is provided by sprinklers and a dry halon 1301 full-flooding system. There are extensive measures to maximize security against physical and electronic intrusion, including vehicle barriers, fencing, TEMPEST shielding, "white sound" barriers, vaults, and interior access control.

Merrill Lynch & Company, Princeton, N] Master plan for a 1,800,000 SF corporate campus located on a 276-acre tract. Design for Phase I - A 1,000,000 SF administration and conference-training center facility containing 15,000 SF of raised floor area for a computer/telecommunications center, conference/seminar rooms, dining facilities, sleeping accommodations, and recreational facilities. The central plant in­ cludes 3,350 tons of refrigeration, 22.9 MMBH of steam and hot water boilers, and 1.6 MW of emergency power.

J.P. Morgan Services Inc., Stanton, DE A 300,000 SF facility containing a data center, operations center, and commons building. The 100,000 SF data center computer room is provided with central air-conditioning systems, air humidification, smoke removal, and halon purge. Complete design and construction phase services for intrusion detection, access control, and closed-circuit television systems included a supervisory computer system for coordinated operator interaction with all security and life safety systems from either of two security consoles. The facility is served by a UPS sys­ tem and emergency generators.
