tests are to be observed by Contractor and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. J D. Maintain a log book of all tests showing dates, per­ sonnel, observers’ initials, etc. E. Be responsible for any damage resulting from failure of items under test. F. Examine all pipe for defects before laying and no defective cr damaged pipe shall be laid. G. If the inspection of the completed system or any part thereof shows any structure, pipe, joint, or any other part of the system which is defective, remove and replace or repair the defective work as directed at no expense to the Contractor. H. Test entire pipe installation prior to connection to existing systems. Subsequent to final connections tests shall be made on the system as a whole as direc­ ted. I. Provide and operate all test equipment and apparatus required for the com.plete testing and inspection of all systems at such time and locations as may be di­ rected by the Contractor and/or by the authorities having jurisdiction. J. Correct defects which develop from testing, and retest system. K. Conduct tests of sufficient duration to permit inspec­ tion of all joints and other areas where leaks might occur. L. When freezing is a hasard, take all precautions neces­ sary to prevent damage. Correct any damage that re­ sults due to freezing at no expense to the Contractor. M. Subcontractors shall give a minimum of seven (7) days notice to the Contractor of time, date and place when any portion of the work is ready to be tested, ex­ amined and/or inspected.
