PART III - EXECUTION A. Testing of 66^_ .0 Reinforced Concrete Pipe and 20”_ Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe 1. After completion of installation of each new section of piping and before final connections are made, the lines shall be filled with water and hydrostatically tested for tightness. Each new section of piping shall be subjected to a test r-ressure of 125 Psig for a period of two (2) hours with no noticeable pressure drop. Back­ filling may be completed after hydrostatic test except where final connections are made to exist­ ing piping. 2. After final connections are completed, each new section of piping shall be subjected to a final hydrostatic test for tightness at the joints connecting to existing piping. A test pressure of 90 Psig shall be mfiintained for a sufficient period of time for the engineer to inspect each joint.. The Sub-contractor shall provide tempo­ rary pumping equipment to be located in the Port Authority Pump Station at the site for hydro­ static testing. 3. The Sub-contractor shall be responsible for the instai.lation and running of the pumping equipment and all temporary piping hook-ups. Each new section of piping shall require a separate tempo­ rary piping hook-up in the Pump Station and the point of connect.ion to existing piping shall be as directed by Port Authority. All work and operations performed by the Sub-contractor in the Pump Station shall be coordinated by the Port Authority and must have prior approval. The temporary pumping equipment- shall have aL water delivery rate of 500 gallons per minute at 90 Psig discharge pressure, and shall be <of the centrit/ugal typo, either engine or motor driven.
