In response to the upcoming World Economic Forum (WEF) to be held at the Waldorf, and other areas throughout Manhattan, the following actions are being taken: Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Activation OEM will have a full activation of the EOC beginning Thursday at 6:00 AM to Monday Midnight. DEP Emergency Management will provide coverage. Phone number for the DEP desk at the EOC is not yet available. When known, it will be disseminated. DEP Emergency Management will also be able to be contacted via 800 MHz radio on channel 1-A, call sign "Pier 92 Command* and, as always, via DEP Central Communications. Please contact DEP Emergency Management to: 1) Facilitate access to secured areas; and. 2) Of any Incidents / complaints that are tn the vicinity of the Frozen Zone or other venues where WEF activities will take place; and, 3) Problems or concerns that we may be able to assist with.
Frozen Zone Beginning midnight tonight (Jan 29) NYPD will establish a frozen zone around the Waldorf with the following boundaries: 49th Street on the South; 50th Street on the North Madison Ave on the West 3rd Ave on the East; Additionally, Lexington will be shut from 47th Street to 57th Street. NYPD advises that additional frozen zones may have to be established on an ad hoc basis. Other locations where WEF activities will take place are: NY Stock Exchange / Wall Street area; United Nations Area; Bryant Park / Public Library. The attached map indicates the frozen zone. Access to frozen zone is to be coordinated through the DEP Emergency Management. Until the EOC is activated, you can contact me directly at 917-769-1282-cell or page me at 877-628-4064 or via Central Communications. After Thursday, 6:00 AM we can be contacted at the EOC.
Protest Activities NYPD is aware of several demonstrations to take place. Most are planned to be stationary protests, however
BEC HazMat, Central Communications of known activities.
