REMOVAL OF DUST, DEBRIS, AND CONTAMINATED MATERIALS
3.02 STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES:
A. The Contractor shall develop and implement a written standard procedure for contaminated dust
and debris removal to ensure maximum protection and safeguard from aerosol exposure of the
workers, visitors, employees, general public, and the environment. The standard operating
procedures, which shall be reviewed and approved by the Owner and Ambient Group prior to
implementation, shall include:
1. Security from unauthorized entry into the workspace.
2. Restriction of the Contractor's personnel to the immediate work area and access/egress
routes.
3. Proper protective clothing and respiratory protection for Work Area Workers prior to
entering the work space from the outside.
4. Safe work practices in the Work Area.
5. Proper exit practices from the work space to the outside through the decontamination
facilities.
6. Packing, loading, transporting, and disposing of contaminated material in a way that
minimizes exposure and contamination.
7. Emergency evacuation procedure for medical and safety.
8. Compliance with safety procedures as reasonably required by the Owner.
9. Provisions for effective supervision and personnel monitoring for exposure during the
work.
10. Engineering control systems that minimize exposure to aerosols within and outside the
workspace.
3.03 SUMMARY OF WORK:
A. The scope of the Project includes the complete removal and disposal of all contaminated
materials located within the demised premises on each floor, including core and shell building
improvements, at 114 Liberty Street. It is the intent of this project to remove the aforementioned
dust, debris and contaminated materials (including furnishings) from the demised tenant
premises and demolish and remo\e tenant improvements and betterments and base-building
furnishes, including but not limited to HVAC units and associated ductwork, carpeting, gypsum
wall and ceiling board, exposed hardwood flooring, pipe insulation, spray-on fireproofing etc.
B. The contractor shall file this work as an asbestos abatement project with all appropriate
agencies, including all applicable fees.
C. The starting and completion dates for all work, including meeting clearance criteria, shall be
determined by 114 Liberty Street Condominium Board and conveyed to the Contractor, prior to
the bid due date.
