Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available from the New York State Department of Labor for persons v hose jobs or homes are in the five counties. Telephone Claims can be made at 1-888-209-8124. The filing deadline for DUA claims is Thursday, October, 11,2001.

Vehicular Access: Roads in lower Manhattan east of Broadway have been reopened to certain vehicles as of 6 p.m. Monday (10/1/01). Taxis, livery cabs, buses, delivery trucks and vehicles owned by local residents mil be allowed past the police checkpoint at Canal Street, however, no traffic is allowed directly on E.’oadway.

I47nctows of Hope Family Relief Fund for Families ofRestaurant Workers A fundraising organization called Windov/S of Hope Family Relief Fund has been established to to assist the families of the victims who were either employees of Windows on the World or were workers in other food establishments in the Tower complex. The fund is a 501 (c)3 charitable fund administered by JP Morgan Chase & Co. and David Berdon & Co., LLP. More information can be accessed at www.windowsofhooe.org The group is also coordinating fundraising efforts among restaurants throughout the City that were not directly affected by the disaster.
