Updates

Genera( Water Quality and Quantity Due to heavy rains, turbidity levels in the Rondout reservoir have risen significantly, DEP has reduced the draw from the reservoir to 440 million gallons per day (mgd), versus a more normal 700- 800 mgd. The turbidity continues to settle out in downstream reservoirs and does not pose a threat to the drinking water intakes at this time. Staff continues to monitor the situation closely. As of August 15, the reservoirs were at 96.7% of capacity. Normal capacity for this time of year is 86.0%. Consumption fbr August 14 was 1280.2 million gallons. The quality of Catskill/Delaware and Croton source water continues to be excellent.
