Springfield Garden., Industrial Park (Air Froight Aroa) (a/k/a SE-727); Queens Springfield Gardens Residential Areas (a/k/a SE-727A and SE-727B); Queens The regular bi-monthly progress meeting was held on Thursday, August 3, 2000 and was attended by representatives from the NYC Economic Development Corporation (EDC), their consultant engineer, the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT), and the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC). At this meeting, participants carefully reviewed detailed updates on the Phase I work; however, the primary focus was the scope of the expanded Phase II work and the next two segments of the joint DOT/DEP project. Also, it was clarified that the work involved in obtaining a NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) wetlands construction permit was covered under the Phase I scope of the EDC/Goodkind & O'Dea agreement. As a result of the DEC permit involvement, it was further agreed that a representative from DEP's Office of Environmental Planning and Assessment (OEPA) would be invited to future progress meetings.

General Water Quality and Quantity is As of August 18, the reservoirs were at 96.6% of capacity. Normal capacity for this time of year 85.1%. Consumption for August 17 was 1314.2 million gallons. The quality of Catskill/Delaware and Croton source water continues to be excellent. Due to heavy rains several weeks ago, turbidity to levels in the Rondout Reservoir remain elevated. DEP has taken a number of operational steps minimize turbidity levels leaving the reservoir. Most recently, BWS began drawing water off the top of the reservoir as turbidity finally begins to settle to lower depths. Turbidity levels in downstream reservoirs have become somewhat elevated, but there has been no threat to the quality days, of effluent at the Kensico Reservoir. Barring further significant rain events over the coming Rondout quality should return to normal in the next few weeks.
