Croton Stormwater DEP han schcdulcd a meeting with representatives of NYSDOT, Westchester County and the Town of Somers in an effort to coordinate repair of a severely eroding channel on City property in Somers. Stormwater discharges from State Route 35, Somers-owned Woods Street, and a park owned by Westchester County have resulted in significant erosion of City property and sedimentation of the Muscoot River. This site is located near a prime fishery and is the subject of much interest from the angling community.

Kensico Bridge Reconstruction DEP has been notified by NYSDOT that the reconstruction of the Route 22 bridge over a portion of the Kensico Reservoir is scheduled to begin in September, although delays incurred in the contracting process may postpone work until the following month. The bridge project involves the reconstruction of the structure to address a variety of safety issues. While no Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan was required under the City's watershed Regulations, DEP was successful in convincing NYSDOT to include measures to capture and treat runoff from the bridge that now discharges directly into the reservoir.

Reclaimed Water Use atJFKAirport To reduce the need for potable water, on August 15 my staff met with re tatives of the Port Authority (PA) to discuss possible use of Jamaica WPCP effl (gray water) at K airport. The PA had already begun a feasibility study and are interested ' effluent for dscape irrigation. They expect to have 81 acres of landscape with a demand of one ey would also reap a benefit as in times of drought the landscape dies off and the PA is then forced to replant. They agreed to complete their feasibility study and at it with us. In turn, we are sending them our consultant report on possible uses so they may look other uses by the PA, e.g. Air Train Car washing, airport fire fighting, airport HVAC systems, and washing of the Hudson River tunnels. We will also send the specifications for our compost.

Repair of Lead Water Service Lines; Citywide 2000 to A meeting was held with representatives of the licensed plumbers industry on August 10, meeting was discuss a proposed change in DEP related to the repair of lead water service lines. This the proposed held in order to alleviate any negative impact from the proposed policy change. Under change, DEP will require the complete and full replacement of all lead water service lines which are uncovered by plumbers during repair operations.
