Per the requirements of the NYCDEP, these materials will be abated last in the
decontamination sequence. As such, care will be taken to protect these materials
from disturbance and/or damage during the soft-strip phase. Pipe insulation will
be removed by NYC DEP Glovebag Procedures. For detailed information on the
asbestos survey conducted, please refer to the Airtek Asbestos Survey Reports
dated May 31, 2005 (Attachment I).
Following 211d and 3rd cleanings and the settling periods, final air testing will be
conducted as detailed in "Clearance Criteria" above. Upon successful clearance
air testing, the building will be turned over to the demolition contractor for
conventional demolition.
7.4 Structural Framing/Masonry Facade
Due to the impossibility of removing structural framing without the of

building collapse, all structural framing, and exposed masonry facade will be wet-
wiped, HEPA vacuumed, and encapsulated with penetrating encapsulant. Prior to
commencement of conventional demolition, the remaining building components
(anticipated to be principally wood framing and masonry facade) will be tested by
the Environmental Consultant for ACM content and RCRA characteristics, as
noted in the WMP (Part IV of the submittal). These materials will be handled and
disposed of as appropriate based on the test results.
