We would like to thank those of you who attended last night's resident meeting. The
discussion, in our opinion, was very productive and, hopefully, informative to all in
attendance.
In keeping with our promise to keep you fully informed, the following is a further update
to the issues presented and the commitments we have made.
Air Quality:
1. Mr. Fred Burkhardt of ATC Associates Inc was present to discuss the qualifications
of his organization and the status of their visual inspection and air test findings to
date.
2. ATC is a national leader in the environmental consulting field. They employ over
1,600 experts in 75 offices throughout the United States. Their clients include private
owners, corporations and city, state and federal agencies. They maintain total
capability for conducting air quality management programs.
3. Visual inspections of 123 apartments for evidence of dust have been completed as of
yesterday evening. The remainder of the apartments will be inspected today and
tomorrow.
4. Of the 123 apartments visually inspected, 2 had evidence of dust from the masonry
work we started last week, and one bedroom in one apartment had and ultra-light dust
accumulation that would be similar to not cleaning an apartment for 3 weeks under
normal circumstances. The remaining 120 apartments showed no evidence of dust
accumulation.
5. ATC was able to air test every apartment that you gave us permission to test for
asbestos using the TEM method. In total, 110 apartments were tested. Not only were
the results under the AHERA standard of 70 structures per square millimeter, there
was absolutely no evidence of airborne asbestos in the apartments tested.
