' We shall comply with attachment VA. We are requesting a variance from the following subsections: Section 1-81(m): Partial plasticization of the work area(s).

Work Proms a Posting of Signs "Danger Asbestos" warning signs, in English, Spanish, and the language spoken by the crew members, will be posted at all entrances to the working area. h. Insta~(ation of Worker/Wale Decontarninalion Unit This will be attached to the work area. This unit will be installed using three chambers divided by air lock consisting of shower, dirty room, and a clean room. This unit will also be fully sheathed inside using two (2) layers of six mil fire retardant polyurethane sheeting, and two six mil reinforced polyurethane on the floor of the decontamination unit. The dean room will include shelves, and clean sealable plastic bags for storage of clean clothes; the decontamination -unit shall contain shelves for storage of respirators, towels, respirators filters; and others personal protective equipment The shower room shall contain liquid soap & shampoo, and disposable towels. Shower water shall be drained, collected and filtered through a water filtration system. Filtered water shall be discharged to a sewer. The Waste unit will have washroom to utilize to wash down the single ACM bags, to the double bags. c. Installation of Critical Barriers. All. areas will be sealed off with isolation barriers as per ®1-81ac),()). All movable objects will be removed from the areas. All penetrations in and along the floor will be sealed. The walls of the work area and any floor surfaces not being abated will be covered with two layers of 6-mil plastic sheeting. d. Removal of ACM After establishing six air changes per hour, each abatement team will be equipped with appropriate hand tools for manual methods of removal ACM. The asbestos containing material shall be removed first, by wet methods. After the ACM material is adequately wetted will be directly bagged. A visual inspection will be made by asbestos supervisor to ensure the absence of debris on the floor, after that and one hour waiting period we will start removal of VAT. e: Clean-up procedurefBag-Out Sequence. Upon completion of the stripping, floor tiles shall be rendered free of visible debris. All exposed floor surface shall be coated with transparent encapsulant Prior to the completion of each shift, the single disposable bag will be brought over to the de-con unit (wash room), where the bags shall be wetted down and placed into an additional 6-mil disposable bag. The second disposable will be secured with water resistant duct tape, labeled and brought down to the waste container for storage until the completion of work. Upon completion of each work area and acceptable visual clearance, all critical barriers will be removed and disposed of as ACM and shall follow the same bag out sequence as mentioned above.
