I mixture and total sample volume are then used to quantify the PCB concentrations in the air samples.

All Lead Air Sampling was conducted in accordance with the sampling, sample preparation, and analysis requirements of NIOSH Method 7300. As required, all personal sampling pumps were calibrated to a flow rate of 2 liters per minute. The pumps were run to collect a total sample volume of greater than 360 liters of air. Each air sample was collected on a 37-millimeter (mm)

I cellulose ester membrane filter, with a 0.8-micron pore size, mounted in 37-mm filter cassette and sealed with plastic plugs and a cellulose band. After drawing the sample, the samples were then shipped to Galson Laboratories for analysis. Analysis consisted of adding ashing acid to the filter and developing a mixture. This mixture is then analyzed by inductively-coupled plasma- , atomic emission spectrometry to determine the micrograms of lead in the mixture. The micrograms in the mixture and total sample volume are used to calculate the lead concentration in the air.

i All Asbestos Air Sampling was conducted in accordance with the sampling, sample preparation,

I and analysis requirements of EPA Level II. EPA Level II requires the calibration of all ambient sampling pumps to a maximum flowrate of 12 liters per minute. Sampling pumps were run to collect a total sample volume of greater than 1200 liters of air. Collection of the asbestos air I samples was done on 25-mm mixed cellulose ester filters, with a 0.45-micron pore size, mounted in 25-mm filter cassettes sealed with plastic plugs and cellulose bands. After sampling, the

I samples were shipped to EMSL Laboratories for analysis. Analysis consisted of cutting a piece of the filter and analyzing by utilizing a Transmission Electron Microscopy to determine the

I number of asbestos structures present in the sample. The number of the asbestos structures and total sample volume are used to estimate the total asbestos structures in the air.

I ANALYTICAL RESULTS

The levels reported for the tested contaminants that were detected were all below the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) recommended indoor air quality levels. If the sampling results were less than the laboratory's limits of detection, ' we considered that specific contaminant to not be detected in the air at that time. The analytical sampling results are summarized in Table 1, and only those contaminants detected above the laboratory's limit of detection are presented.
