Air Sampling for Respirable Dust & Silica PSI collected 7 representative air samples on January 31 , 2002, one from each of six of the Trailers and one from a nearby outside area. Samples were collected and analyzed by National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Method 7500 to determine ambient or background airborne nuisance dust and respirable silica concentrations. Respirable dust concentrations ranged from 0.0178 mg/m3 to 0.4978 mg/m3, which are well below the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) limit of 5 mg/m3 and the American Conference of Governmetal Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) limit of 3 mg/m3. Analytical results are shown below in Table 4.

Respirable silica was below the analytical sensitivity of 0.0100 mg/m3 for all of the samples collected, therefore all concentrations are below the NIOSH limit of 0.05 mg/m3 and the ACGIH limit of 0.1 mg/m3 for airborne silica. Analytical results are shown below in Table 4.
