Re: . Testing Results
At long last, we have received the testing results from Applied Technology Services, Inc.
The report advises:
Transmission Electron. Microscopy (TEM) analysis was requested to specifically rule out asbestos related hazards. Results of the samples analyzed via TEM indicate that all airborne asbestosfibers levels were below the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Re-occupancy Level of 70 structures per square millimeter and therefore all areas tested may be re-occupied without the use of respiratory protection against airborne fibers at this time.
Bulk samples were taken of the dust which was present throughout all areas. Results analyzed via TEM indicate Chrysotile asbestos was present in various samples although not in percentages high enough (greater than 1%) to be classified as Asbestos Containing Material (ACM).
Air and Bulk samples were taken throughout our buildings. Air tests indicated the presence of asbestos material in two spaces, one on the third floor of 88 West Broadway and the other on the second floor of 74 Warren Street.
Bulk samples indicated the presence of asbestos in one store (prior to being cleaned), one occupied loft at 84 West Broadway which will be re-cleaned and the second loft at 74 Warren Street as well as one unoccupied loft at 88 West Broadway. Of the four positive samples in occupied lofts, two involved tenants contents and two were found in window sills. Some of the samples may have occurred prior to the final cleaning.
