Subject: 19 February 2002, Asbestos Bulk Sampling Results for the Greenwich St Scaffold and
Trinity Place Scaffold, American Stock Exchange, New York, NY.
Dear Ms. Carol Hoover:
This report includes the results of asbestos bulk sampling conducted 19 February 2002 at the
American Stock Exchange, New York, NY. Mr. Bart Gallagher collected bulk samples of gray ash
debris from the top of the two pedestrian protection scaffold/canopies located at the Greenwich Street
and Trinity Place sidewalks. Asbestos samples were collected according to New York State and U.S.
EPA standards and analyzed according to U.S. EPA standards using polarized light microscopy.
Five (5) samples were collected from the Greenwich Street scaffold, and three (3) samples from
the Trinity Place scaffold. The asbestos bulk sampling locations and results are reported below (see the
Asbestos Bulk Samples Results). Two samples from the Greenwich St Scaffold were found to contain
trace amounts of chrysotile asbestos. All other samples collected did not contain any detectable asbestos.
All eight of these bulk samples are not considered asbestos containing material since they contain less
than one percent asbestos. The asbestos bulk sample results are presented in the attached tables.
