On Friday, September 28e, and Monday, October 1", 2001, burning odors or smoke odors from the World Trade Center site were reported in the area surrounding the site and specifically inside the Red Room of the American Stock Exchange. The management team of the American Stock Exchange requested that air samples be collected in the Red Room because of odors.Polynuelear aromatic hydrocarbons (P.AHs) were collected because FAHs are prodix c4 through combustion of fuels, found in fuels, plastics, and other building components. Ac:etaladehyde was also added to the PAHs because it is formed during combustion. PAHs samples were collected from s areas in the Red Room to represent the air space. The PAils in air results are presented in the tables below,
