Subject: Follow Up Air and Bulk Sampling Results for the American Stock Exchange, Now York, NY.

Dear Mr. Coffey:

This report includes the results of additiottal tests taken September 21, and October 2", 2001 as well as results from tests taken on September 21 and September 24 end not reported i n -the 28 September. 2001 report. The air and bulk sampling locations and results are reported below. Asbestos samples were collected according. to New. York State and U.S. EPA standards and analyzed according to U.S. EPA standards using Transmission EIectron Microscopy. Other substances were collected and analyzed using. the National Institutes for Occupational Safety and Health protocol.

Twenty-seven asbestos micro-vacuum samples were :ol1ccted'because of the concern that asbestos material may be on different surfaces including furnituk'e, carpets, and floors. In all 27 asbestos micro-vacuum samples no asbestos was detected (Tables in rear of report).

Staff access to certain sections of certain floors in 22 Thames was needed before the air testing was completed. However, the bulk samples collected from 22 names indicated trace amounts of asbestos and therefore are not considered by NIOSH and OSHA to he a health risk.

Since th it I5"' floor and the 12" floor had that elevated follow screening levels were

at five different points on each floor was conducted to fully characterize the air lead values. All results for the 156 floor and the 12th floor were below delectable. limits. Based on the ten follow up values it is believed that the 15a floor. and the 12e floor screening levels were in error. It is relatively easy to contaminate samples in the Held or laboratory with lead because there are significant sources of lead in environment.
