PERMIT FOR MINOR WORK ISSUE DATE: EXPIRATION DATE: DOCKET N: PMW 0: 06/14/02 06/14/2006 026891 PMW 02-7201

D E 56 BEAVER STREET BOROUGH: BLOCK/LOT: Delmonlco's Building MANHATTAN 29/ 7501 INDIVIDUAL LANDMARK

ISSUED TO: R. Radhakerishanav, Dir. 56 Beaver Strteet Condominium do Time Equities 55 Fifth Avenue New York, NY 10003

Pursuant to Section 25-310 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York, the Landmarks Preservation Commission hereby approves certain alterations to the subject premises as proposed in your application completed on June 12, 2002.

The approved work consists of cleaning the roof of the building of debris related to the collapse of the World Trade Center, including collecting all loose debris, washing loose gravel, and wet wiping other surfaces, as described in specifications prepared by the Department of Environmental Protection and submitted as components of this application.

In reviewing this proposal, the Commission notes that the designation report describes the Oelmonico's Building as an eight-story Renaissance Revival style brownstone, terra cotta and brick .restaurant and office building designed by James Brown Lord and built in 1890-91; that it is the only surviving building associated with the world-famous Delmonico's Restaurant: and that it is one of the finest surviving late-nineteenth- century buildings in Manhattan's financial district. The Commission also notes that there is some debris on the roof

Staff has reviewed these specifications and finds that the work on the roof will not require the removal of any significant protected architectural material; and that it will not detract from the architectural character of the building or streetscape. Therefore, the Commission has no objection to the work proceeding at this time, or the issuance of permits by any other city agency.
